The Eight of Hearts Person: "Emotional power" is the most obvious attribute suggested by your card. Whether this will translate into "The Power of Love" will largely depend on what you call love. If love is synonymous with sex, your emotional drive may urge you to pursue your romantic fantasies through one relationship after another. If you will accept the responsibility of the power symbolized in this card and combine it with your inherent idealism, you should find that your charm and charisma win you friends and allies and allow you to be adept at dealing with groups, too. You have the power in your love to overcome all obstacles in relationships, to heal the sick, and the ability to bring peace and harmony where there is strife and disagreement. As an eight you may have to learn to resist
the temptation to use power tactics, to bully your way through. There are times when you
may succumb to being manipulative or being heavy-handed. You may achieve
some objectives this way, but you are likely to accomplish far more through the
use of your charming nature and loving understanding. Your
magnetic personality attracts many people to you and as a Heart you
thrive on people-involvement. Keep this in mind when choosing occupations and
prime interests.

The Eight of Clubs Person: Eight is the number of power, the Club suit merges this power with the mind, making your card the symbol of "mental power." You have the ability to focus your mind with laser-beam accuracy. When you aim to achieve what you set your sights on, you stay with it until you succeed. You're used to overcoming many obstacles and a good memory is your forte. Yours is one of three fixed cards. The others being the
King of Spades and the Jack of Hearts. You are likely to have a strong affinity
with individuals identified with these cards. The fixed cards can be indicative
of strength. But they can also imply a fixed, stubborn nature, which may fail to
grow due to its own inflexibility. For this reason, it is very important that
your thinking be based on a reasoning knowledge rather than opinionated
feelings. Guard against the temptation to indulge in mental gymnastics and
arguments as a sort of perverse pleasure. Of all the cards, those who are
identified with this card are the most likely to be tempted to play the part of
the "Devil's advocate." Since almost all of your cards fall under the auspicious influence of Jupiter in the Jupiter line, yours is considered to be one of the most fortunate of all the life patterns shown in the cards. This underlying protection may be the source of your greatest challenge, in that, allowing you to get by without really trying, you may fail to develop the strength of character needed to bring out the potential greatness implied in your card.

The
Eight of Diamonds Person: The Diamond suit brings the power of
your Eight to the realm of values. Too often those whose birthdays identify them
with this card only recognize its force as a power in material values. But the displaced
Queen of Spades in the indicates that there is also a subtle, spiritual power
hidden in this card. One of the most significant factors about your card and its
influence on you is its placement in the top center position of the Crown line
(see Figure 1).
For this reason, your card has become identified as the symbol of the Sun. This
amplifies the power implied in your card and the variety of expression through
which you can demonstrate this power. While the potential that this suggests is
tremendous, so is the responsibility. Abuse this power through being overly
dominant, or through being obsessed with material acquisition and you will know
the emptiness of those whose criteria of success is only measured in gold and
power. Although you have the power to overcome most obstacles, as an eight the potential opportunity symbolized in this card will probably require a great deal of effort from you. While many identified with this card do realize the fame and success embodied in their Sun Card, the true greatness implied here does not necessarily require that you be the richest or the greatest. Only that you accept the responsibility of blending the spiritual and material power represented in your card into a constructive influence in the lives that you touch.

The
Eight of Spades Person: Although your card is most commonly
identified as the symbol of power through labor, this certainly does not
necessarily limit this expression of power to that which is accomplished through
the "sweat of the brow." True, this card usually implies hard work,
but as associated with the Spade suit, this Eight also suggests a productive
power through the expression of spiritual energies and the application of higher
wisdom. Since this card occupies the Saturn position as both a Birth Card and a
Displaced Card, it's fortunate that it also implies that you have the potential
strength to cope with the challenges suggested by this planetary influence. To
the unenlightened, this may bring burdensome tasks which are primarily
accomplished through grim determination and physical energy. Their criteria of
success being based purely on material and monetary achievements. Unfortunately,
an ability to do exceptionally well in mundane matters may minimize your efforts
to develop the higher octave of your power. The tremendous energies symbolized in your card suggest that you can overcome just about any obstacle, which also implies that you may have a significant potential for healing. In this respect, whether it be through the conventional channels of healing, or through metaphysical practices, you might be particularly effective in activities related to health. While the Eight of Spades suggests that you have the brawn, your displaced King of Clubs shows that you also have the brains.
