An Overview of the Systems I Use

Everyone is completely unique.  That's obvious.  But four of the seven systems I use group people into one of several "types" that show how we are similar to and different from other people.  These systems are:

  1. The Enneagram System

  2. The Myers-Briggs System

  3. The Playing Card System

  4. The Aura Color System

The Enneagram System is a powerful and dynamic psychological and spiritual personality system that describes 9 distinct and fundamentally different patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting.  While people often can relate to several Enneagram types everyone has one core type that reflects their particular wounding in childhood.  The Enneagram is the most powerful system I know to explain our ego insecurities, core ego motivations in life, and distorted world view.  You have to discover your Enneagram type for yourself.

The Myers-Briggs System is another powerful personality system based on brain functioning and explains which brain functions each of the 16 distinctly different types of people prefer to use.  Our preferred brain functions create our personality strengths and our less preferred brain functions create our personality weaknesses.  Many people are unaware of their personality strengths because they seem so natural but they are all too aware of their weaknesses because people and life keep pointing them out!  Over time most of us learn (usually the hard way) how to use our less preferred brain functions to help us lead a more balanced life.  Wouldn't it be nice if you could learn your less preferred brain functions NOW?  You have to discover your Myers-Briggs type for yourself also.

The Enneagram and Myers-Briggs systems are completely different systems but there does seem to be some correlation between types of one system and types of the other.  I have included a chart at the end of this overview to help you see the correlation between the systems that I have found in practice.  The Myers-Briggs system looks at how we come into the world, at our inborn preferences.  It focuses on our strengths and on the healthy desires that motivate our behavior.  It encourages self-acceptance and tolerance.  The Enneagram looks at how we adapt to the world.  It focuses on the habits of mind that limit us, and the unfulfilled needs that motivate our behavior.  It encourages expanding our limited view of ourselves and the world and breaking through our psychological blocks.

The Playing Card System is a relatively unheard of system that is based on your month and day of birth and is uncannily accurate.  It combines the knowledge gleaned from astrology and numerology mostly but is a distinct system.  In this system each of the 52 playing cards in a deck of cards has a symbolic meaning and each card relates to different birth dates.  Understanding the symbolic meaning of a card and what specific date(s) of birth it relates to helps to explain a person's personality.  Since there are 366 possible birth dates and only 52 cards, most of the playing cards represent more than one date (the exceptions are January 1, 2 and December 29, 30, 31 which each have their own playing card).  This means that people born on different dates can have the same playing card and thus many things in common.  For example, people born on Jan. 27, Feb. 25, Mar. 23, Apr. 21, May 19, June 17, July 15, Aug. 13, Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 7, and Dec. 5 all are the K of (Clubs) in this system and thus have many things in common.

The Aura Color System helps you understand your personality by knowing what the core Life Colors are in your aura.  Your aura is the electromagnetic (i.e. energy) field that completely surrounds your body and radiates approximately six feet out in all directions from your body.  Each aura color has associated personality characteristics.  Everyone's aura contains many different-colored bands of energy but the one or two bands closest to your body reveal your priorities, methods of processing life, and primary purpose for being on the planet.  These are your Life Colors and they do not usually change.  The outer bands of your aura, however, frequently change colors and positions, reflecting what is happening with you at any given moment.  It is quite obvious to see that understanding your unchanging Life Colors could be very helpful.

The other three systems are much more complex and highly specific to each individual.  They are symbolic systems that are universal in scope but personal in practice.  They each use their own "language" to explain every conceivable personality characteristic and every possible human experience, including timing of events in your life!  These systems are:

  1. Numerology

  2. Western Astrology

  3. Vedic Astrology

Each individual is born at the perfect moment and given the perfect name to further their spiritual growth in this lifetime.

Numerology is based on a person's exact full name at birth and date of birth.  Everything in this world is made of energy and each number has its own vibrational quality and meaning.  There is a direct correlation between the letters in any alphabet and numbers.  For example, in the English alphabet the letter A = 1, B = 2, ......, K = 11, L = 12, ......, Z = 26, etc.  Since our name is made up of letters that can be correlated to numbers and our date of birth is made up of numbers, using the techniques of numerology we can see which numbers are most affecting our lives.  Almost always people are born over or under balanced in certain numbers which creates gifts and talents but also weaknesses in personality.  The more consciously aware we are, the more we can embody the healthy characteristics of the numbers and minimize the unhealthy characteristics.

Vedic Astrology and Western Astrology are based on a person's exact date, time and place of birth.  This information must be very accurate and the competency and consciousness of the astrologer must be high enough to interpret the symbolism accurately with minimal personal bias.  The planets and stars in the celestial heavens are in a certain relationship to each other and the Earth when an individual is born.  That relationship partially foretells what a person's personality tendencies will be and the types of experiences he or she will encounter on Earth.  Since the planets are always moving, different types of experiences are always coming into our life.  Since we have been given free will, how we choose to react and respond to these experiences is up to us.  Again, the more conscious we become, the less our personality runs us and the freer we are to enjoy our destiny.
